About

In my work, each painting becomes a site where fragments of experience—sketches, advertisements, and bodily materials are layered and disrupted, creating visual fields that resist singular interpretation. The materials themselves become active agents in this process. Hair, glass, oil, pastel, and acrylic become artifacts.

Inspired by Surrealist strategies of automatism, my process transforms collage into a method of unconscious construction. I use collage that weaves together fragments of family photographs, social media, and cultural iconography. I’m working in a space where fragments collide and generate unexpected meanings. This approach is an inquiry into how meaning is constructed and dismantled. By introducing elements of chance and allowing materials to interact through unplanned collages, the results are semi-abstract images that are both familiar and strange.

WORKING FROM LIFE.

I am a big proponent of the sketchbook. I have an actice practice of bringing my sketchbook everywhere and I go to weekly life drawing sessions.
